Professor Kwesi Amponsah-Tawiah is a distinguished Organizational Psychologist and a leading Professor of Organizational Development in the Department of Organisation and Human Resource Management. His work lies at the heart of Human Resource strategy, transformation, and development, and he is widely recognized for his academic depth, practical insight, and visionary leadership in shaping modern HR practices.

With extensive research and consultancy experience across multiple domains of Human Resource Management—including Organizational Development and Change Management, Organizational Design and Restructuring, Occupational Health and Safety, and Organizational Behaviour Management—Professor Amponsah-Tawiah has played a pivotal role in aligning people strategies with organizational goals.

He has provided expert consulting services to a diverse range of local and international institutions, such as the International Labour Organization (ILO), World Health Organization (WHO), International Finance Corporation (IFC), African Development Bank (AfDB), Vodafone Ghana, Unilever Ghana, Tullow Oil Ghana, Volta River Authority, and the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, among others.

His counsel has informed HR policy design, organizational restructuring, workforce health strategies, and leadership development programs. As an acclaimed thought leader in Learning and Development, Professor Amponsah-Tawiah is passionate about capacity building and continuous improvement in human capital. His teaching, mentorship, and speaking engagements reflect a commitment to equipping HR professionals and leaders with the tools they need to navigate complex organizational challenges. He is a Fellow of both the Institute of Directors Ghana and the COIL Institute for Global Networked Learning (USA).

His professional affiliations further reflect his multidisciplinary HR perspective: he is a member of the Research Advisory Group of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (UK), the British Psychological Society, the Ghana Psychological Association, the International Commission on Occupational Health, the Ghana Psychological Council, and the Ghana Institute of Safety and Environment Professionals. Professor Amponsah-Tawiah holds a PhD in Applied Psychology from the University of Nottingham, UK, and both BA (Hons) and MPhil degrees in Psychology and Industrial & Organizational Psychology from the University of Ghana. His academic background grounds his work in solid psychological science, making him a trusted authority in HR analytics and organizational diagnostics.

With over 80 published research articles in top-tier international journals, he continues to shape the global discourse on workplace safety, employee wellbeing, organizational change, and strategic HR management.
